As requested by the client the architect has used a lot of timber through out this building. It gives a very warm and pleasant feel. Being a natural material it connects the interior of the house with the surroundings.

The house is built on the edge of Samford. This house reperesents the edge of civilisation. the point where city meets rural life. It makes connections with the city throught it's white mansory walls and hard edges. the recyled iornbank cladding and over grown roof gradens give it a 'occupied ruin' look that was part of the brief. (Specifier. 2010)
The approach to this 'occupied ruin' lying on the edge of civilization is a truly delightful experience
